3 Points To Look Forward To In “Rich Man, Poor Woman”

“Rich Man, Poor Woman” will begin airing soon on Dramax and MBN, and excitement is high for the drama. As the remake of a popular Japanese drama that set a new record for the most downloads on FujiTV’s VOD services, it will be interesting to see how the cast and crew take the original story and add their own spin on it.

1. A young and sweet cast! A high-quality script from a renowned team
EXO’s Suho (Lee Yoo Chan), Ha Yeon Soo (Kim Bo Ra), Oh Chang Suk (Min Tae Ju), and Kim Ye Won (Min Tae Ra) are a younger cast than that of the original series, and they are set to tell the sweet and refreshing story of four youths. They are set to bring a more youthful energy to the original story, putting a new spin on the concept. Their story will be written by the same team who have worked on scripts for productions like “Confidential Assignment,” “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King,” “Old Boy,” and “Beauty Inside.”

2. Visuals galore, overflowing chemistry! Suho and Ha Yeon Soo’s heart-fluttering romance
Suho, who will be playing CEO Lee Yoo Chan, and Ha Yeon Soo, who will take on the role of optimistic job-seeker Kim Bo Ra, are ready to be 2018’s representative young couple! On top of visuals that shine, the two will play a pair of characters with completely different personalities, values, and social status who bicker as the perfect pair for a romantic comedy. Suho and Ha Yeon Soo’s heart-fluttering romance, which will be twice the fun and twice the excitement, is set to awaken viewers’ romantic cells

3. Not your regular Cinderella story! Adding a trendy and relatable touch

NextIn, the company that Lee Yoo Chan founded, will be the backdrop to interesting and trendy stories that take place in the IT industry. Also, Lee Yoo Chan separates himself from the existing “rich man” drama trope because he built up his own wealth through his own hard work and ingenuity rather than being born into wealth. Viewers will be able to relate with Kim Bo Ra, who reflects the reality of job-seekers as she keeps applying for jobs and getting rejected. Despite her repeated failure, she always stays positive, strives to succeed based on her own merits, and never loses her passion.

“Rich Man, Poor Woman” will tell the story of Lee Yoo Chan, a genius CEO who is perfect in every way except he suffers from face blindness (prosopagnosia), and Kim Bo Ra, an optimistic job-seeker whose memory rivals that of Alpha Go’s. The first episode will premiere on Dramax and MBN on May 9 at 11 p.m. KST. The drama will also be exclusively available on Viki!
